1) Tell us something about yourself that your fans may not know.

A: I won a Division 2 National Championship when I was a Junior in College at Pittsburg State University. I played alongside John Brown (Buffalo Bills WR) & De’Vante Bausby (Denver Broncos CB).

2) How has being from Los Angeles had an impact on your music style, if any?

A: Being from LA has had a major impact on my sound and my music. Although I may not always sound like a traditional LA artist I’m heavily influenced by my city and the legendary artists that have come from it. Artists like Snoop, Nate Dogg, Kendrick, Schoolboy Q, Dr. Dre, Suga Free and so many more have influenced the way I approach making my music. Being from LA has shaped who I am as well as my perspective on life and that’s something that I put into my music.

3) You recently dropped 'Home Team' with Damian Lillard aka Dame D.O.L.L.A. How did this song come about?

A: Home Team was put together by the homie @Brookfieldduece who is Dames A&R. Me and Duece go back a few years we used to work together when I was living in the Bay Area. He hit me one day saying Dame was looking for a hook and that he sent him my music. Dame liked my sound and sent over the song with his verses and the rest is history.

4) What was the inspiration behind the song?

A: Home Team is all about family friends and loyalty. It’s important to keep the people who held you down close to you and support one another.

5) If you could only have 1 feature for the rest of your career, who would it be?

A: If I could only have 1 feature it would have to be Lupe Fiasco. He’s my favorite rapper and it would just be mind blowing for me to actually get him on a song. I’m cool with him now though so it just might happen who knows.

6) How has COVID-19 made you adjust your music career?

A: Honestly COVID hasn’t changed much for me besides doing shows. ii was already an artist who is online and had my merch running so COVID kinda just gave me more time to focus on that. Me and my family also own a restaurant here in LA and we have stayed open during this time selling food To-Go, so my life has kinda still been the same for the most part.

7) What plans do you have for your career post COVID-19?

A: Post COVID I want to continue to grow my brand and platform, do more shows, and eventually tour again. My goal has always been to live comfortably doing what I love while inspiring others to do the same, and I plan on continuing to do that.

8) How did you come up with your clothing brand 'Shop The Homies?' Is fashion another passion of yours?

A: So in 2016 I made my first run of merch with my “The Homie Dreebo” logo. I was broke then lol. I had just graduated from college, was working at sports authority and pursuing music at the same time. My big brother Wale actually funded my first run of 25 shirts with my logo and I sold out in 3 days. When that happened I was like man I might be on to something. Fast forward later that year I moved back to LA from the Bay and decided to start my brand and call it Shop The Homies. Fashion is definitely a passion of mine. I’m a firm believer in the look good, feel good motto so I’ve always been interested in clothes and shoes. I’m also a creative so the more I design and create the more I love it and just wanna get better and do more.
